    Stamped Concrete

Stamped or Patterned Concrete is a process whereby specially created texture mats are firmly imprinted into freshly poured concrete to recreate the natural look of slate, brick, and stone. These impressions are designed to impart a 3-dimensional texture, which when colored, creates a realistic natural look.

    Care and Cleaning
    1. Clean the surface with biodegradable detergent and warm water.
    2. Apply and Scrub with an ordinary push broom.
    3. Rince thoroughly with water

An economical cleaning solution can be made of 1 pound TSP (Tri-Sodium Phosphate) dissolved in 1 gallon of warm water. TSP is available at most home improvement stores.

While decorative surfaces are "stain resistant", they are not "stain proof" The sooner stains receive attention, the easier they are to remove. Stains can become set over time if they are allowed to penetrate/ eat into the decorative surface.

Residue such as tree sap or road tar may be spot cleaned with either Goo Gone or Dissolves-It (available at home improvement stores), then rinsed clean.

Heavily Soiled areas may be cleaned using a pressure washer (maximum pressure 2400 p.s.i.). Do not use a turbo rotating tip. Care must be taken when using this type of equipment.

Do not put plastic or rubber backed carpets or mats over your decorative surface. They hold in moisture, prohibiting natural evaporation, which contributes to a build-up of mineral deposits. These mineral deposits can be "next to impossible" to remove.

If there are planters on the surface, they must be placed on protective saucers or plant dollies with air space beneath them. Failing to do so will trap water draining from the planters and form mineral deposits. Plant fertilizers also have the potential to cause discoloration.

Make sure all outdoor furniture has protective caps on the legs to prevent scaring the surface.

Rinse any harsh chemicals such as pool chlorine from your surface as soon as possible to avoid damage.

Never use solvents such as xylene, MEK, acetone or paint thinner on your surface, they can damage the sealer.

Never use deicers containing ammonium nitrate and/or ammonium sulfate, they will result in the rapid attack and deterioration of the protective sealer.

Inspect your surface annually to determine if the sealer coat has been worn down form heavy traffic on the most used pathways. If deterioration of the skid-resistant surface is apparant then a new sealer coat should be applied.

Following these simple measures will ensure a beautiful finish for years to come.
